A creator can look convincing, the lighting can feel natural, and the hook can be strong, yet the ad still fails if the product changes between shots. Common problems include a logo being redrawn, packaging text turning into gibberish, the bottle becoming taller, or the wrong colour variant appearing after animation.
This is product drift. It happens because a generative model is interpreting the item rather than photographing the real object. A prompt that says "keep the product identical" helps, but it isn't a guarantee. The more reliable approach is to control the source images, approve the product before motion, and know which details should be added during editing instead of generated.
Decide what must remain exact
Make a short product truth sheet before generating anything. This should list the features a customer will use to recognise the item:
- Overall shape and proportions
